About Us

Indian Hills Garden club is located in the southwestern corner of Michigan.  We are a group of over 40 people from St. Joseph, Benton Harbor, Stevensville and surrounding areas with common interests in gardening.  We aim to further gardening knowledge by providing education, resources, and network opportunities for our members and community.  We have been active since 1929!

April Meeting

We enjoyed an incredible visit to Bendix Woods County Park for a Bluebird talk by Michaele and then a guided walk.  The walk through old-growth woods was breathtaking with native spring flowers in abundance; white Trilliums were in full bloom along with Mayapples, Virginia Waterleaf, Violets, Solomon's Seal, and Anemone.  Wow!

Keystone Species to the Rescue

Heather Catania, a member of the Wild Ones Organization and MGC, will educate us on the importance of planting native "keystone" species in our gardens.  Sue Bailey, as Homegrown National Park MGC Resource, is hosting as her property is an example of both keystone plants and her ongoing journey to remove invasive plants and increase native plantings.  Heather will use the garden to illustrate how to improve our support of nature!

Location:  Sue Bailey's Home

Note:  Limited parking so please carpool.  Parking information will be provided prior to the meeting.
